§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean)The Government are committed to strengthening international peace and stability, building upon the objectives of the United Nations International Decade for a Culture of Peace initiative.
2WAThe Government have no plans to implement a separate Ministry of Peace. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Ministry of Defence and the Department for International Development all contribute significant resources and effort to conflict prevention, peacekeeping and peace support operations; both as individual departments and jointly through the Government's Global and Africa Conflict Prevention Pools. The pools have ministerial oversight and direction at Cabinet level.
