HL Deb 11 October 2004 vol 665 cc7-8WA
Lord Astor of Hever

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they are taking to lay orders under the Export Controls Act 2002 to ensure that classified information supplied to United Kingdom businesses by the United States under an International Traffic in Arms Regulations waiver is fully protected against further disclosure. [HL4177]

Lord Sainsbury of Turville

The proposals developed with the Government of the United States for a UK exemption from the International Traffic in Arms Regulations concern transfers of unclassified items to the UK. The implementation of these proposals would not require further orders under the Export Control Act.
