HL Deb 18 November 2004 vol 666 c201WA
Lord Kilclooney

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When officials in the Department for Education and Skills responsible for secondary education last met representatives of those who wish to retain grammar schools in Northern Ireland. [HL4928]

Lord Filkin

There have been no such meetings. Education is a devolved issue and is therefore a matter for the Northern Ireland Executive. While the institutions in Northern Ireland are dissolved, responsibility rests with Ministers in the Northern Ireland Office.
