Whether they will seek information from the United Nations Secretary-General as to what proportion of Zimbabwe's gross domestic product is represented by their reported purchase of 240 million dollars worth of jet fighters and armoured vehicles from China. [HL4880]

Zimbabwe's reported efforts to import significant amounts of military equipment while its economy deteriorates are yet further indication that its government has little concern for the welfare of Zimbabweans. We have not sought information on this purchase from the United Nations Secretary-General.
