The original estimated cost for the refit of HMS "Endurance", including the Ministry of Defence supplied materials, was £4.2 million. The actual costs have yet to be finalised and are commercially sensitive and to release them could jeopardise effective future competitions for similar work. I am therefore withholding this information under Exemption 7 of the Code of Access to Government Information—effective management and operations of the public service.
