To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many and what percentage of people in Northern Ireland are in receipt of disability living allowance. [175859]

§ Mr. Spellar
As of February 2004 there where 159,911 people in receipt of disability living allowance. This equates to 9.4 per cent. of the population of Northern Ireland and 10.8 per cent. of the population who would be eligible to claim i.e. those under 65.
