HC Deb 26 May 2004 vol 421 c1717W
Ross Cranston

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether he has received the report of the Health and Safety Commission on the effectiveness of the current strategy to promote directors' responsibility for health and safety, the success of the voluntary approach and the need for further legislation; and if he will make a statement. Jane Kennedy

Ministers received the Health and Safety Commission's report in January on the effectiveness of the current strategy to promote directors' responsibility for health and safety, the success of the voluntary approach and the need for further legislation. Ministers accepted the Commission's view that the current voluntary approach is working, that further legislation is not needed at the moment but that this would be kept under review.
