HC Deb 25 May 2004 vol 421 cc1605-6W
Dr. Naysmith

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what advice and treatment is offered to those patients who are identified as being at high risk of developing osteoporosis. [173541]

Dr. Ladyman

Patients identified as being at high risk of developing osteoporosis should be given advice on diet, exercise, avoiding excessive consumption of alcohol and reducing smoking. There are a range of treatment options which aim to provide pain relief, improve mobility and prevent further bone loss.
