HC Deb 18 May 2004 vol 421 cc889-90W
Mr. Reed

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what assessment he has made of the effects of(a) lowering the minimum threshold for private finance initiatives (PFI) projects below £20 million in the case of sport and leisure facilities and (b) increasing (PEI) credits to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in order to enable more PFI projects for sport and leisure facilities. [174053]

Mr. Boateng

The Treasury is currently in consultation with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport regarding the allocation of PFI credits and the establishment of an appropriate minimum threshold for PFI projects. Final decisions will be made as part of the Spending Review 2004 process.
