To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what his Department's policy is in respect of the computer file formats used for the(a) distribution and (b) archiving of publicly available documents. [173352]

The Department's documents generally available to the public electronically are provided through the Department's website: www.fco.gov.uk. These are usually available in HTML or PDF formats. Previously published documents are archived in the same way at www.fco.gov.uk/directory. Public documents that pre-date the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website are available on request from the FCO Library: [e-mail].
