§ Caroline FlintThe new Treaty was signed by my right 11 on. Friend the Home Secretary and the US Attorney General on 31 March 2003. It was approved by both Houses of Parliament on 16 and 17 December 2003 and it has already been given effect in the UK by the Extradition Act 2003,which came into force on 1 January 2004. The Treaty will be brought into force in the United States when it has been approved and ratified by the US Senate.
