Helen Southworth

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what(a) percentage and (b) number of reported motorway traffic incidents involved a heavy goods vehicle with left hand drive in each of the last three years; and what percentage of those incidents were attributed to poor visibility or blind spots on such vehicles. [170207]

Mr. Jamieson

The information is not available. From January 2005 data relating to heavy goods vehicles with left-hand drive will be collected separately using the STATS 19 accident report format. This means the information will be available from June 2006 onwards.
