§ Nigel GriffithsThe Department has discussed, and will continue to discuss as appropriate, disconnections issues with Ofgem. With DTIs encouragement, Ofgem has been in discussion with gas and electricity suppliers about the arrangements governing disconnections, particularly for vulnerable customers. Last month, Ofgem issued an industry consultation paper that set out proposed revisions to, and clarification of, those arrangements. This should ensure that vulnerable customers are not, in the future, disconnected.
