To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the cost of implementing in the United Kingdom the United States Container Security Initiative. [163586]

The United States Government have met all the costs of installing equipment and providing US resources to work with HM Customs and Excise at the ports included in the initiative Customs' costs are minimal and have not been separately quantified.
