HL Deb 24 March 2004 vol 659 c104WA
Baroness Miller of Chilthorne Domer

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What economic value they place on bees, as pollinators. [HL1754]

Lord Whitty

The Government recognise that the UK honey bee population is an important resource for the pollination of cultivated crops and wild plants. The value of commercial crop pollination by bees has been estimated as between £120 million and £200 million per annum.
