To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the types of financial transaction that are subject to VAT. [162452]

In general, financial services are exempt from VAT. Group 5 of Schedule 9 to the VAT Act 1994 sets out in detail which supplies of financial services are exempt from VAT.
