HL Deb 11 March 2004 vol 658 c195WA
Lord Morris of Manchester

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made in the Department of Health's inquiry into the disclosures made by the Lord Owen concerning decisions taken while he was a Health Minister in regard to imports of blood for the treatment of patients with haemophilia; and when they expect the inquiry to conclude. [HL1419]

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Lord Warner)

A review is being undertaken by the Department of Health to clarify the facts surrounding the supply of blood products in the 1970s and 1980s. The review is based on papers available from the time and it is hoped to make the conclusions of the review known in due course.
