HC Deb 10 March 2004 vol 418 cc1552-3W
Pete Wishart

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what responsibilities his Department has in relation to the Scottish football industry; and if he will make a statement. [156824]

Dawn Primarolo

[holding answer 27 February 2004]:Sport is primarily a devolved matter in Scotland and so the responsibility of the Scottish Executive. In relation to non devolved fiscal aspects, the 2003 Pre-Budget Report announced that the Government is to consider how it can best help to support Football Supporters' Trusts, in particular by a review of how they are treated by the Inland Revenue.
