§ Keith HillIn "Sustainable Communities, Building for the Future" we announced that funding of £446 million over 3 years would be made available to the Thames Gateway as part of a total budget of almost £22 billion (see annex A). This will be used to tackle the barriers to development which have deterred investment in the Gateway. It will help regenerate existing communities and open up new development opportunities for housing 1375W and employment on major brownfield sites such as Ebbsfleet and Eastern Quarry in Kent and Barking Reach, which is the largest brown field site in London.
