HC Deb 23 June 2004 vol 422 c1430W
Mr. Chaytor

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills if he will list, for each of the last five years, for each English local education authority, the total number and percentage of parents lodging an appeal against the allocation of a place for their child in(a) primary and (b) secondary schools. [176702]

Mr. Miliband

[holding answer 10 June 2004]: The requested information has been placed in the House of Commons Library.

Due to changes in the underlying data collection, the percentage of appeals lodged given in this table for 2001–02 is not directly comparable with earlier years.

Information on admission appeals lodged in 2002–03 will be published in a Statistical First Release on 17 June.
