§ Mr. Mike O'BrienThe British embassy in Jakarta followed the trial of Reverend Damanik closely and is in contact with a number of NGOs and community groups connected to his case. We last discussed Reverend Damanik's case with the Indonesian ambassador in November 2003. We will continue to remind the Indonesian Government of their human rights obligations and stress to them the importance of a fair and transparent judicial system.
