HC Deb 22 June 2004 vol 422 c1346W
Dr. Gibson

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what percentage of the increase in funding for cancer was allocated to haematology, with particular reference to myeloma; and what proportion of this sum was spent on staff training. [178828]

Miss Melanie Johnson

In 2003–04 an additional £570 million was made available for cancer services. Data are not collected centrally on spending of this investment against individual cancer tumour sites. It is for primary care trusts in partnership with strategic health authorities and other local stakeholders to determine how best to use their funds to meet national priorities for cancer services.
