§ Dr. LadymanThe current registration and inspection procedures for care homes were put in place in 2002, when the National Care Standards Commission was established and the regulations and national minimum standards for care homes were introduced. The Commission for Social Care Inspection became operational in April 2004 and operates under the same regulatory framework.
