To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how much post-consumer paper waste was produced in the UK in each of the last three years; what percentage of post-consumer paper waste was collected for recycling in the UK in(a) 2001, (b) 2002 and (c) 2003; and what the projected annual percentages are for the collection of post-consumer paper waste for recycling in the UK for the next five years. Estimates from the Confederation of Paper Industries give UK recovered paper usage. The results and corresponding percentages produced from total paper production are listed in the following table.
