§ Paul Goggins[holding answer 16 July 2004]: The Prison Service has reviewed the role of the Diversity and Equality Group, which has led to the formation of a new Race and Equalities Action Group. The new group will have three key teams:
Delivery Team;Community Links Team; andPolicy and Programme Team.The change reflects the Prison Service's commitment to ensuring that significant improvements continue to be made to rite and diversity issues, and that responsibilities and obligations under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, are implemented fully in every prison. The new group will take effect from 19 July 2004.
