§ Mr. JamiesonThe numbers of accidents involving a fatal of serious injury to a motorcycle/moped rider or passenger in the areas requested are given in the following table. "Serious" injuries are defined within the Departments road accident reporting system (STATS 19) as injuries for which a person is detained in hospital as an in-patient, plus injuries that may not lead to hospitalisation such as concussion, severe shock and severe cuts and lacerations.
