§ Mr. GardinerThe Chancellor of the Exchequer's statement provided for increased allocations for the Department for Education and Skills in 2006–07 and 2007–08. Northern Ireland received a proportion of these increases but, under the standard funding arrangements, such additions are not hypothecated as the allocation of the overall Northern Ireland budget is a matter for local decision.
