To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will commission a study on the environmental impact of staff and service users across the NHS. [148316]

It is Government policy that environmental considerations must be properly taken into account in all the activities and services provided by the national health service. It is for each individual hospital trust to undertake environmental impact assessments for the services it provides and the facilities used by its staff and service users.
