§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Lord Whitty)The current restrictions do not allow the sale of Type 3 rams in hill breeds of sheep after 2006, but allow their continued breeding on farm until the end of 2008. We are currently carrying out a review of the National Scrapie Plan in order to draw up a long-term plan. The review includes looking at restrictions such as those on Type 3 rams in hill breeds.
