HC Deb 13 January 2004 vol 416 c667W
Dr. Vis

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many children received into Stoke Heath Young Offenders' Institution in the past year were on the Child Protection Register. [145093]

Paul Goggins

The Local Youth Offending Team is in every case where a child is received into a secure training facility from court required to confirm whether the child's name has been placed on the child protection register. This information assists in the creation of an individual sentence plan.

Figures are not held centrally or collated locally at Stoke Heath Young Offender Institution. Examination of the records of all the young people who have been received into that establishment over the past year could not be undertaken without disproportionate cost.
