To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he proposes to hold discussions with the new government in Georgia. [146482]

The Government look forward to working with the new leadership in Georgia. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister wrote to Mr. Saakashvili on 5 January to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections and to offer the UK's support in helping him tackle the major challenges ahead.

The UK Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Sir Brian Fall, will visit Georgia from 12–14 January for talks with the new Administration.
