What work permits have been issued to professional sportsmen and women from January 1997 to December 2003 inclusive. [HL473]

Between 1 January 1997 and 30 September this year, 5,511 work permit applications for professional sportsmen and sportswomen were approved. These figures include all members of a group, extensions, changes of employment and supplementary employment. The figures for the final quarter of 2003 are not yet available.
