To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if she will ensure that those who choose to work after 65 enjoy the same employment rights as those under 65. [145128]

The great majority of employment protection legislation already applies to older workers, whatever their age. We will review upper age limits on statutory redundancy payments and general unfair dismissal claims, and make final decisions on them, in the light of responses to the recent public consultation on age "discrimination, Equality and Diversity: Age Matters".
