Mr. Stephen Twigg

Food in Schools is a joint Department for Education and Skills (DfES)/Department of Health (DH) programme. Funding for the DIES strand of Food in Schools (April 2001—March 2004) is £545,000, while the DH strand has been allocated £2 million (April 2001—February 2005). Food in Schools aims to bring together all food related activities in schools, including training for teachers, and to help them work towards the National Healthy Schools Standard.
