§ The Solicitor-GeneralBetween 24 March 2003 (when the relevant provisions of the POCA came into effect) and the end of 2003, the Crown Prosecution Service applied for and was granted approximately 40 confiscation orders and assets valued in excess of £4.5 million are restrained in respect of 45 defendants. To date enforcement action has been successfully taken in respect of three confiscation orders made under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
