asked Her Majesty's Government:
What percentage of the Northern Ireland Executive for Health budget in the last financial year was spent on administration of the area boards; and what was spent on the provision of health. [HL679]

Of the final funds allocated to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety for Northern Ireland, 1.3 per cent of the net resource outturn for 2002–03 was spent on administration costs by the four regional health boards. A further 91.4 per cent of the final funds allocated was spent on providing healthcare.
