§ Alun MichaelThe Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs plays a leading role in the UK's EU policy on the environment, agriculture, fisheries, animal and plant health. Between 8 June 2001 and 31 December 2003, 89 EU Directives, for which Defra has responsibility for implementation, were adopted.
The table lists the directives adopted together with:
- (a) the EU deadline for transposition into domestic legislation.
- (b) where, appropriate, the final United Kingdom transposition date.
