The offences of incitement to racial hatred are set out in Part III of the Public Order Act 1986, Sections 18 to 23. In relation to offences of incitement to racial hatred, five prosecutions were commenced in 2000, three prosecutions were commenced in 2001, one prosecution was commenced in 2002, no prosecutions were commenced in 2003 and one prosecution has been commenced to date in 2004.
