asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is still their policy to create a Gaeltacht Quarter in West Belfast; if so, when; and what similar arrangements are to be put in place for Ulster-Scots under the policy of parity of esteem. [HL143]

Officials are working with community representatives to take forward the recommendation of the Joint West Belfast/Greater Shankhill Task Force that a Gaeltacht Quarter be developed. Proposals are expected early next year. Proposals for an Ulster-Scots quarter have not been submitted.
