§ Keith HillThe Government's commitment, set out in Part 4 of "Sustainable Communities; building for the future", is to protect the countryside through a target for each region to maintain or increase the current area of land designated as greenbelt land in local plans. This commitment applies to all English regions, including those containing the four growth areas identified elsewhere in "Sustainable Communities".
