HC Deb 27 April 2004 vol 420 c914W
Norman Baker

To ask the hon. Member for Roxburgh and Berwickshire, representing the House of Commons Commission what plans the Commission has to increase the provision of(a) low-energy lighting and (b) lighting activated by movement within the House. [167783]

Sir Archy Kirkwood

We have a budget each year for investment in tactical energy saving measures. These are implemented in order of pay-back priority. Many motion activated lights have already been installed and there is budgetary provision for more.

For all major projects, the initial project brief requires the project manager to consider methods of providing `energy efficient lighting' as part of the overall design.
