Government grants are provided for the purchase of both LPG and natural gas vehicles and the installation of refuelling infrastructure under the Powershift programme. Further Government support is provided for alternatively fuelled vehicles through reduced fuel duty for road fuel gases and reduced Vehicle Excise Duty. Alternatively fuelled vehicles may also be exempt from the London congestion charge.
