HC Deb 21 April 2004 vol 420 c541W
Mr. Gibb

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on the(a) prevalence of acrylamide in cooked and prepared food and (b) results of recent research commissioned by the Food Standards Agency. [165901]

Miss Melanie Johnson

Acrylamide has been found in a wide range of cooked and processed foods.

The Food Standards Agency has commissioned several research projects, including a survey of acrylamide levels in the United Kingdom diet. The dietary survey is due to be published this summer.
