However, the joint Community Fund/New Opportunities Fund Fair 1565W Share initiative aims to make Lottery funding more readily available to disadvantaged communities in 77 local areas, which so far have not received their fair share of Lottery funding. The 77 Fair Share areas were selected on the basis of deprivation and low levels of Lottery funding. In England, the levels of deprivation were determined by the Index of Multiple Deprivation 2000.
