HC Deb 16 September 2003 vol 410 c672W
Mrs. Curtis-Thomas

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what change there has been in the level of street crime in each of the 10 hot spot areas during the year 2002–03 [128863]

Ms Blears

The table compares recorded robbery in 2002–03 with 2001–02 in the 10 police force areas involved in the Street Grime Initiative (SCI). The figures are not adjusted for National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS). The NCRS effect in 2002–03 on recorded robbery figures in England and Wales was to inflate those by three per cent.
