§ Mr. Pond64,000 claims for Bereavement Payment were received in 2002–03. We have made no estimate of the number of people who have failed to make a claim, or whose claims were made outside the time limit.
We have extended the time limit for claiming a Bereavement Payment from three to 12 months for all cases where death occurred on or after 1 April 2003.
