HC Deb 07 October 2003 vol 411 c55W
Dr. Fox:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what percentage of heart attack patients received thrombolysis within one hour of calling for assistance in the last year for which figures are available. [130330]

Miss Melanie Johnson:

The percentage of heart attack patients who were eligible (who had no contraindications) to receive thrombolysis within one hour of calling for help was 37 per cent. for the year 2002. The proportion is increasing in 2003, in line with the Government target. The figure for January to March 2003 was 44 per cent. and for April to June 2003 was 47 per cent.
