HC Deb 07 October 2003 vol 411 c171W
Miss McIntosh

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what recent representations she has received on the future of the BBC television licence. [131471]

Estelle Morris

Representations on the future of the television licence fee are not recorded separately from other representations about television licensing received by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. In the year from April 2002 to March 2003, the Department received 268 letters from Members of Parliament and 527 letters from members of the public about all aspects of television licensing.

The forthcoming review of the BBC's Royal Charter will include public consultation on the Corporation's funding arrangements.
