To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will amend Queen's Regulation 9.404 to define the exceptional reasons which would make the retention of a soldier desirable if he has been sentenced by a civil court or by court-martial to imprisonment, detention or any other form of custodial sentence; and if he will make a statement. There are no plans to amend The Queen's Regulations for the Army to define the exceptional reasons which would make the retention of a soldier desirable if he has been sentenced by a civil court or by court-martial to imprisonment, detention or any other form of custodial sentence.
