To ask the Secretary of State for Health under what powers the testing of 11 to 16-year-olds for chlamydia in schools is carried out; and what recent discussions he has had on the testing of school children for other sexually-transmitted diseases. [131806]

The power and decision to provide a school based health service, and the content of that service, is for the individual governing body of the school in consultation with pupils, parents and the school community.
